Terms & Conditions – YarnsEnd Creations
Last updated: 18 October 2026
Welcome to YarnsEnd Creations! These Terms & Conditions explain the rules for shopping with us. By placing an order through our online store, you agree to these terms.
YarnsEnd Creations is a small, independent crochet business based in Tauranga, New Zealand. Every creation is handmade with care, and we want you to feel confident when purchasing from us.
1. Who can shop with us?
Our online store is intended for customers aged 18 and over. If you’re under 18, please ask a parent or legal guardian to place the order on your behalf.
We currently sell and ship within New Zealand only. We reserve the right to decline orders that we cannot reasonably fulfil or deliver.
2. Our handmade creations
Every YarnsEnd Creations item is handmade, meaning no two pieces will ever be exactly alike.
Small variations in colour, shape, stitching, size and appearance are a natural part of handmade crochet and are not necessarily defects.
We do our best to ensure product photographs and descriptions accurately represent each item. Colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen or device.
Any significant difference between the item supplied and its advertised description will be handled in accordance with applicable New Zealand consumer law.
3. Prices and payment
All prices are displayed in New Zealand dollars (NZD), unless stated otherwise. Shipping costs, where applicable, will be shown before you complete your purchase.
Payment is processed through Stripe using the payment methods available at checkout. Orders must be paid for in full before they are processed, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
We reserve the right to change product prices, descriptions and availability at any time. Any price changes will not affect an order we have already accepted.
If a genuine pricing or listing error occurs, we will contact you to discuss the options. We will not automatically charge you a higher amount than the price you agreed to pay.
4. Orders and cancellations
Once an order has been placed, we will process it as soon as reasonably possible.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where there is a genuine reason, such as suspected fraudulent activity, an accidental duplicate order, an obvious listing error or an inability to supply the item.
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled order.
If you need to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee cancellation once an item has been dispatched or custom work has begun.
Nothing in these terms removes any cancellation or other rights you may have under New Zealand law.
5. Shipping and delivery
We currently ship within New Zealand.
Delivery costs and any estimated delivery timeframes will be provided where applicable during checkout or through our order communications.
Once your order has been dispatched, delivery is handled by the selected delivery provider. We will do our best to assist if a parcel is delayed, lost or damaged, but we cannot guarantee delivery dates.
We remain responsible for meeting our obligations under New Zealand consumer law, including applicable requirements relating to delivery.
Please ensure your delivery address is correct when placing your order. If you notice an error, contact us immediately. We cannot guarantee an address change once an order has been dispatched.
If your parcel has not arrived within the expected timeframe, please contact us so we can investigate.
6. Returns, refunds and faulty items
Because our creations are handmade, we encourage you to read product descriptions and check dimensions before ordering.
We do not offer refunds solely because you change your mind, choose the wrong item or decide a product is no longer wanted, unless otherwise agreed or required by law.
However, your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and other applicable laws still apply. If an item is faulty, unsafe, significantly different from its description or otherwise fails to meet a legal guarantee, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund, depending on the circumstances.
If there is a problem with your order, please contact us with your order details and photographs where helpful. We will work with you to resolve the issue fairly and in accordance with the law.
7. Custom orders
If we agree to make a custom item, we will confirm the agreed design, price and any expected timeframe before proceeding.
Please note that handmade items may have small variations from reference photographs or previous creations.
Once custom work has begun, changes to the agreed design may not be possible or may involve additional costs and time. We will discuss any additional charges with you before proceeding.
Custom orders are subject to the same applicable consumer protections as other purchases. We cannot exclude your legal rights simply because an item was made to order.
8. Intellectual property
All original YarnsEnd Creations designs, product photographs, written descriptions, branding, logos and website content belong to YarnsEnd Creations or are used with permission.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell or commercially use our original photographs, written content, branding or designs without prior written permission from the relevant rights holder.
Purchasing a finished crochet item does not transfer ownership of the underlying design, photographs or other intellectual property.
If you would like to discuss permission to use our work, please contact us.
9. Product use and safety
Our products are handmade crochet creations. Please read any product descriptions and safety information before purchasing.
Unless a product is specifically described and suitable for a particular purpose, do not assume it is intended for babies, unsupervised young children or use as a safety product.
For children, adult supervision is recommended, particularly where a product contains small parts or decorative features. Please inspect handmade items regularly and discontinue use if they become damaged.
Nothing in these terms excludes any product safety obligations or legal rights that apply to our products.
10. Website use and acceptable behaviour
We ask all customers to communicate respectfully when contacting YarnsEnd Creations.
We reserve the right to restrict access to our website or decline future orders where there is a reasonable basis to suspect fraud, unlawful activity, abuse, harassment or misuse of our services.
We will not use this right to avoid our legal obligations or to discriminate unlawfully.
We make reasonable efforts to keep our website information accurate and accessible, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that the website will always be free from technical errors.
11. Circumstances beyond our control
Occasionally, events outside our reasonable control may affect our ability to make, process or deliver orders. These may include severe weather, natural disasters, transport disruptions, supplier shortages, power or internet outages, or other unexpected events.
If something like this affects your order, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you, explain the situation and discuss the available options.
Any refunds, cancellations or other remedies required under New Zealand law will still apply.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, YarnsEnd Creations is not responsible for losses arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control or from a customer’s misuse of a product.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986.
13. Privacy
We collect and handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. This information may be used to process orders, arrange delivery, communicate with customers and carry out other purposes explained in that policy.
Please read our Privacy Policy for more information about how your information is handled.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions as our business, products or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on our website.
Changes will not retrospectively remove rights or alter an order already accepted without an appropriate legal basis.
15. New Zealand law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
Any disputes will first be approached in good faith, with the aim of finding a fair and practical resolution. Nothing in this section prevents either party from exercising their legal rights or accessing an appropriate dispute resolution process.
